The Great Nordeen, Mt Bachelor
The last official race at Mount Bachelor, even though there are 159 inches of snow (6 inches last night) will take place this Saturday, April 4 .
Start time 9:30 AM. Start time temp 23F. Overnight low 11F. It has been snowing quite a bit and more is in the forecast. I would pick a medium to fairly soft flex ski with a medium grind. It might be a good idea to apply a medium interupted structure.
Start with a layer of SOLDA UF7. Next a layer of SOLDA F31 Pink. Last hard wax layer should be SOLDA F40 Red. Finish with SOLDA HPO4 or Powerjet 1. Each layer of hard wax should be scraped and brushed. If the forecast changes and overnight lows as well as start time temps go up to say, 22/28, finish with SOLDA Fluor 100 instead of HP04. Structure should be added after waxing. Brush after adding any structure.
It is always a good idea to brush the bases in the morning before skiing. Also a good idea to ski on the race skis for a few minutes before the race.
Have a great race.
